Perfectly Mini Doughnuts

Ingredients
For the Dough:

2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour

½ cup (100g) granulated sugar

2 tsp baking powder

½ tsp ground nutmeg (optional, for warmth)

¾ cup (180ml) whole milk

1 large egg

2 tbsp (28g) unsalted butter, melted

1 tsp vanilla extract
For Frying (Optional):

2 cups (480ml) neutral oil (vegetable, canola, or peanut)
For Coating:

½ cup (100g) granulated sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon

OR powdered sugar

OR melted chocolate/glaze (see below)
For Chocolate Glaze (Optional):

½ cup (90g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 tbsp (30ml) heavy cream

1 tsp coconut oil (for shine)
Instructions
1. Make the Dough

Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg in a bowl.

In another bowl, mix milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.

Gently fold wet ingredients into dry until just combined (don’t overmix—small lumps are okay).
2. Shape the Doughnuts

For Baked:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a mini doughnut pan.

Pipe or spoon batter into each cavity (¾ full). Bake for 8–10 minutes until springy.

For Fried:

Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep pot.

Drop teaspoon-sized dough balls into oil (work in batches). Fry 1–2 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.

3. Coat & Decorate

Cinnamon Sugar: Roll warm doughnuts in melted butter, then cinnamon sugar.

Powdered Sugar: Dust cooled doughnuts generously.

Chocolate Glaze: Microwave chocolate, cream, and coconut oil in 20-sec bursts, then dip doughnuts.
