Crispy, golden, and bursting with sweet crab meat—this recipe is a game-changer for seafood lovers!
INGREDIENTS
- 3 Alaskan King Crab legs (thawed if frozen)
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 tbsp water
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp paprika (for smokiness)
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Oil for frying (peanut or vegetable)
- Lemon wedges & melted butter (for serving)
INSTRUCTIONS
1️⃣ Prep the Crab
- Crack shells: Use kitchen shears to cut along the length of each crab leg, exposing the meat but keeping it attached to the shell. Pat dry with paper towels.
2️⃣ Make the Egg Wash
- Whisk eggs + water in a shallow bowl. In another bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
3️⃣ Dredge & Fry
- Dip crab legs in egg wash, then coat evenly with flour mixture.
- Heat oil to 375°F (190°C) in a deep fryer or heavy pot (enough to submerge legs).
- Fry 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Drain on a wire rack.
4️⃣ Serve Hot
- Drizzle with melted butter and serve with lemon wedges.
🔥 Pro Tips
- Double fry: For extra crispiness, fry 1 minute, rest, then fry 1 more minute.
- Spicy kick: Add ¼ tsp cayenne to the flour.
- Air fryer option: Spray with oil, air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 mins.
