Crayon Star Sun Catchers

Materials Needed

Old crayons (peeled and broken into small pieces)

Pencil sharpener or grater (optional, for crayon shavings)

Star-shaped cookie cutter or cardboard star template

Iron (or hair straightener)

Thin towel or parchment paper (to protect iron)

String or ribbon

Instructions
1. Prep the Crayons

Remove paper wrappers from old crayons.

Break them into small pieces or use a pencil sharpener/grater to create colorful shavings.
2. Arrange the Design

Cut two equal-sized sheets of wax paper (about 8×8 inches).

Place one sheet on a flat, iron-safe surface.

Sprinkle crayon pieces or shavings in a star shape (use a cookie cutter as a guide) or freely for abstract designs.
3. Melt the Wax

Lay the second wax paper sheet on top.

Cover with a thin towel or parchment paper.

On low heat, gently iron over the towel in circular motions for 10-20 seconds until crayons melt.

Let cool completely.
4. Cut Out the Stars

Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to press shapes into the wax paper (or trace a cardboard template and cut with scissors).
5. Add a Hanger

Punch a hole at the top of each star.

Thread string or ribbon through the hole and tie a loop.
6. Hang & Enjoy!
