Here’s a super easy way to make Homemade Cheese with just 3 ingredients – soft, creamy, and fresh-tasting!
🧀 Homemade 3-Ingredient Cheese
Ingredients:
-
1 liter (4 cups) whole milk
-
2 tbsp lemon juice (or vinegar)
-
½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
Instructions:
-
Heat the milk
-
Pour milk into a heavy-bottomed pot.
-
Heat over medium, stirring occasionally, until it’s just about to boil (small bubbles around the edges).
-
-
Add acid
-
Turn off the heat. Stir in lemon juice (or vinegar) slowly.
-
The milk will curdle, separating into white curds (cheese) and yellowish whey.
-
-
Strain
-
Line a strainer with cheesecloth (or a clean thin kitchen towel).
-
Pour the curdled milk through it, catching the curds.
-
Let drain 10–15 minutes (longer for firmer cheese).
-
-
Season & shape
-
Sprinkle with salt and mix lightly.
-
For soft cheese: use right away as spreadable cheese.
-
For firm cheese: gather cloth into a ball, squeeze out extra whey, place a weight on top, and let sit 1–2 hours.
