Crispy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside, loaded with juicy tomatoes, fresh basil, and roasted garlic!
Ingredients

1 loaf French bread or ciabatta (about 12-14 inches)

½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

4 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 tbsp roasted garlic paste for deeper flavor)

2 tbsp fresh basil, finely chopped

1 tsp dried oregano
-
½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or Italian blend)

1 medium tomato, thinly sliced (pat dry with paper towels)

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions
1. Prep the Bread & Garlic Butter

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cut the bread in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet.

In a bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, chopped basil, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper until combined.
2. Assemble & Bake

Spread the garlic basil butter evenly over both bread halves.

Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top, then layer tomato slices.

Finish with Parmesan cheese.

Bake for 12-15 minutes until cheese is melted and edges are golden.
3. Broil for Crispiness (Optional)

Switch oven to broil for the last 1-2 minutes for extra browning (watch closely!).
4. Garnish & Serve
