Texas Firecrackers 🔥🌶️
The ultimate addictive snack! These spicy, salty, and crispy crackers are perfect for parties, game day, or just munching straight from the bowl.
Ingredients
(Makes 8 cups)
- 1 (16 oz) box saltine crackers (or oyster crackers for a twist)
- 1 cup canola or vegetable oil
- 1 (1 oz) packet ranch seasoning mix
- 2 tbsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust for heat)
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
Instructions
1️⃣ Prep: In a large bowl, whisk together oil, ranch seasoning, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne.
2️⃣ Coat Crackers: Add crackers to a gallon-sized ziplock bag (or a large container with a lid). Pour the seasoned oil mixture over them.
3️⃣ Marinate: Seal the bag and gently turn/shake to coat every cracker. Let sit for 1 hour, flipping occasionally.
4️⃣ Bake (Optional): For extra crispiness, spread on a baking sheet and bake at 250°F (120°C) for 15-20 mins.
5️⃣ Serve: Store in an airtight container. Best after 24 hours (if you can wait that long!).
🔥 Pro Tips:
- Spice Control: Reduce red pepper flakes if sensitive to heat.
- Extra Flavor: Add 1 tsp smoked paprika or ½ tsp black pepper.
- Substitutions: Use ritz crackers, pretzels, or cheez-its for variety.
These fiery, savory bites disappear fast—make a double batch! 😋
